Re: How do I use 2 DB at once?
Posted in 1996
It works from one host to another with network connection!!! If you can reach the system from OS, then both having An Informix DB, set up your OS service and Informix sqlhost files. Create synonyms or fully qualify table names and you will be able to access the data. If you need to reach an Informix DB that is Informix 5.x you will need I-Star. Both must be in the same logging state. That is a non-logging DB cannot reach a logging DB..... I am wondering if A PC DB created in 6.X Informix SE can access a DB created in 7.X Informix Online, if so, how in detail? I have heard that the "CONNECT" statement is not available on a 6.X SE that resides on a PC. If the connection is made, it bums me why the two cannot talk, if you have everything set up(that detail on the SE side I'm missing). ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Cheryl Kendricks Internet:cherylk@prod1.jcdc.doleta.gov OR cherylk@gwysmtp.jcdc.doleta.gov DTSI, Inc.
