However, I have witnessed performance improvements without code or schema change such as SE 25 seconds 35 minutes OnLine 8 seconds 10 minutes These were not on SCO but I have not found the hardware platform to make much difference to the level of performance improvement. In both cases the measurements were on an artificially loaded system, but you can't have everything. And remember, OnLine is not only justified for the performance improvement. The fast-recovery and archiving facilities make a significant difference. BTW the figures I quited were with OnLine 5 versus SE version 5. With the performance improvements in OnLine DSA I would expect significant improvement on even those figures.
