C-ISAM
Posted in 1998
Hi, we have soft made in Microsoft C (Ms-Dos) and the old C-Isam for Novell and Ms-Dos. This accounting programs runs very well in many clients many years ago, in 386, 486 and Pentium. In the latest network installed or updated over Novell 3.12/4.11 or NT-4.0 sp3 works fine, but randomly, if a terminal open the tables (INPUT + MANULOCK) it can run the program, perhaps the second too or the thirdth, until one return in the first Open iserrno 113 (the file is exclusively locked by another user). Totally FALSE. In probes, with only two pc's running the same program, the last one in run the executable returns the error. If the first exits, the second run, and so ... We are made all the probes that you can to imagine ... Is a problem of speed in the new machines ? Novell 4.11 or NT-4, with W95 clients plus Intranetware Client 32 or Microsoft Client, with share loaded, adapters 3com 905B-TX, hubs 3com PS-40 PS-50, twisted pair, server P-II 233 128 mb.ram, two seagate's Barracuda scsi, two adaptec controllers, one, 30 users, 5 users ... Anybody thinks something about this ... ? the programs have to last while we can made it in Windows. Thanks in advance Javier Gonzalez (MCP) Madrid (Spain) dataset@futurnet.es
