Dual OnLine/SE transactions

Hello World, I'm working at a site which is running OnLine 7.10. They also have a legacy system using C-ISAM to maintain a Standard Engine 4.11 database. The customer would like to be able select data from the SE tables into the OnLine tables. Of course, they'd like to go the other way too. Can C-ISAM be used with OnLine? (This probably isn't an option anyway. The application reads from SE's logfiles to do its work. I don't think they're up for a rewrite.) Can a single SQL statment access both SE and OnLine? (I-Star perhaps?) Should I plan on writing a program which will connect to SE, gather its info, disconnect, connect to OnLine and post the info?
