How about:

This is off the top of my head and is probably not accurate. Also
beware that tbcheck (oncheck) locks tables, so not a command to run at
peak times. ;-)
Any command that begins tb... can be replaced with on... if your version
is 6.x or higher. This obviously does not do any checking like whether
OnLine is up and running. You could also accept a parameter for the
database name, but you get the idea.
