Application server approach to Informix 4GL -Reply
Posted in 1996
If applications are crashing the server instance then this approach gives a degree of buffering. It can also be used to enhance ODBC security. However the performance is definitely not as good as a direct connection and it is possible that other issues can arise. We are presently following up a bug with Informix which does not occur in a direct connect; only over an application server. regards -- -- Peter Tashkoff NZ Kiwifruit Project Consultant/DBA Marketing Board. Does it give better performance?
