Hi I would like to install IDS 7.x for workgroup on Windows NT machine that do not have any network installed on it. I don't want to install network card on machine. Can someone please help with the configuration setup for 'Client and Server on the Same System via Shared Memory connection'? What must the NETTYPE setting be in the ONCONFIG, etc. (Any information regarding this issue would help) Regards David Reed --------------------------------------------- This message was sent using MWEB Airmail. If your "7.x" is below a certain version it won't necessarily work with your NT Service Pack version. > that do not have any network installed on it. I don't want to install network card on machine. You must have the Windows TCP Service running in order to install IDS. I think you may be able do this without a network card if you set up a local loopback connection, though haven't tried it in a while. Otherwise get a $10 network card - if you don't want a network card for security, don't plug a cable into it. > > Can someone please help with the configuration setup for 'Client and Server on the Same > System via Shared Memory connection'? IDS always connects via TCP on Windows. You don't need to change the default NETTYPE created by the setup program.
