Is it possible to call a third-party application server, such as NetDynamics from a 4GL program running on a Unix box ? Does anyone have this kind of mix running on a production system ? Regards, Paul --== Sent via Deja.com http://www.deja.com/ ==-- ---Share what you know. Learn what you don't.---

Whether it is worth doing so is another matter. -- Jonathan Leffler (jleffler@informix.com, jleffler@earthlink.net) Guardian of DBD::Informix v0.60 -- see http://www.perl.com/CPAN #include <disclaimer.h>

I'm trying to measure the benefit of placing business logic centrally in an App Server (NetDynamics, funnily enough!), and accessing from 4GL and thin-client systems, versus duplication of logic but potentially faster processing. It's an interesting decision... Appreciate any feedback from anyone doing this at the moment. Regards, Paul --== Sent via Deja.com http://www.deja.com/ ==-- ---Share what you know.
