Online Engine Aborting!!
Posted in 1994
I posted something last week which has still not been explained and has
gotten worse. For the past 5 nights our engine has dhut itself down citing
that a process has aborted abnormally as follows:
=======================================================================
03:23:45 Checkpoint Completed
03:25:29 Checkpoint Completed
03:30:14 Checkpoint Completed
03:30:40 Process Aborted Abnormally: pid=24697 user=110 us=4040224c flags=101
03:30:40 Process Aborted Abnormally (critical section): pid=24697 user=110 flags=101
03:30:40 INFORMIX-OnLine entering ABORT mode!!!
03:30:40 -- Online Aborting -- us=40401b8c, pid=20146, uid=109
=========================================================================
On my other post there were LOCK TABLE OVERFLOW statements from the
engine before the abort. This has not been the case in the last several
aborts. The most popular theory before was that the LOCKS parameter setting
was too low. This is set to 30,000 now (pretty large).
The engine has been aborting in the early morning 2-5 am. This is when it
is most active. User 110 is an administrative account which starts up
our systems daemon processes. This id is NOT always the owner of the process
that gets aborted abnormally.
Some other info on our configuration:
=====================================
2 databases both set to NO LOGGING
rootdbs size - 13.5 MB
4 other dbspaces various sizes
Logical Logs - 7 each 1MB each and all in rootdbs
Physical Log - 1 and is 1MB in size in rootdbs
Thanks for any help - please replay via email if possible,
Bill
