Your logic is not correct.
Where did you tell the mirroring process that there was nothing in the
primary? Anyway the mirror would need to be set identical to the primary,
hence it needs to read and write every little bit.
BTW Why are you using Informix mirroring? Does the OS not do it or do you
not have a *good* volume manager? Have you considered choices and compared
them? I have normally found the choices are volume manager mirroring, OS
mirroring and Informix mirroring and in that order.
