No, the question is: "is Win NT stable and fast?" The answer is "no". :-) Anyway, there have been a number of posts regarding this subject and the short synopsis is: * I hate NT. * Non-Informix people (eg SQL Server users) almost always complain that they can't get good performance. * Experienced Informix users generally get about 90% of the performance they would get if they were running an operating system (i.e., UNIX) on the same tin as they run NT. * If the install goes smoothly (don't try any fancy options at install time), you'll get it up and running in about half an hour. If it doesn't go smoothly, make sure you have plenty of Valium (TM) handy. * It is *very* stable once it's up. * Performance is good (for NT) - Informix currently hold the NT TPC/C record AFAIK. * I hate NT. > If there is anyone who wants to share the experiences about the > Workgroup server i would really appreciate this. WGS is very sexy (by Informix standards) and runs stably and quickly (in my experience), but NT sucks lemons.
