Recently we encountered a similar problem. Our primary DB was running on an HP K9000 (120Mhz) and secondary DB on an HP K9000 (180Mhz). After many OS upgrades (recommended by Informix support), the problem was still not resolved. We then moved the primary DB to an HP K9000 (180Mhz) and this fixed the problem. Do you have identical hardware and OS on the primary and secondary server? It took us many tries to get replication up and running. Good luck!
