Broad ESQL/C question.

I am trying to create an ESQL/C program that can execute any sql statement I ask it, then print the data to STDOUT. I know who to execute the SQL statement and run through the cursor but how can I get the data out of a structure when I don't know what is in it.. Or do I have the wrong idea. I would like any help i can get but it has to be an ESQL/C program..
