Re: Use of unions in Views

This is something that has bothered me for some time. There are times when a union in a view is a legitimately needed construct. I ran into this once when some clients wanted a pretty funky report format. The option that was available to me, (but not work for you) was to make temporary tables and populate them with the SQL that would normally create the view. I know this isn't probably what you want to hear, but it worked in my case. This was using Online 5.0 Does the new engine still disallow UNIONS in views?
