RE: Hi All....

Informix works fine on NT for our clients. We have a 20 user live since Jan 1 and another client (12 user) to go live in a couple of months. Beware of the effect of the number of users in the Microsoft User manager. We found that the time taken to connect to the database slows dramatically as the number of users increases. (35 users may take 5 seconds to connect to the database, while 400 users may increase this to 14 seconds - just to complete the database statement). Once connected, the resources and timing are no different to any other platform. Do not overload Microsoft NT in memory. Segregate your application such that each server runs one component - database server, eparate application server etc. Murray Wood -----Original Message----- From: Nageshwaram Amar [SMTP:amarn@mihy.mot.com] Sent: Tuesday, August 03, 1999 10:06 AM To: informix-list@iiug.org Subject: Hi All....
