Bob, sqlr.inf40.d was a product from SCO (before Caldera), called SQL Retriever, you will need to install windows client software. to access the informix database, which is probably informix 4 SE. The Windows SQL retriever software comes with a program called SQL GOLD, this will allow you to connect and get a list of all the tables.
