An RoR adaptor? :-P Seriously... Timmy the Tool and DA Maroon haven't a clue. The funny thing is that if you discount the swapping of customers. (ie customer X defected from this product while customer Y defected to *that* product....) You'll find that both IBM and Oracle will increase their markets by a large percentage of growth. It would be interesting to see if either company didn't increase their markets by 15-20%. Meaning that the markets for databases continues to grow. >From: Carsten Haese <carsten@uniqsys.com> >To: informix-list@iiug.org >Subject: Re: Is IBM actually doing something with IDS? >Date: Thu, 31 May 2007 15:22:07 -0400 >MIME-Version: 1.0 >Received: from perform.iiug.org ([216.177.38.211]) by >bay0-mc9-f1.bay0.hotmail.com with Microsoft SMTPSVC(6.0.3790.2668); Thu, 31 >May 2007 12:22:04 -0700 >Received: from localhost (localhost [127.0.0.1])by perform.iiug.org >(Postfix) with ESMTP id 4C11BA0CB;Thu, 31 May 2007 15:21:53 -0400 (EDT) >Received: from perform.iiug.org ([127.0.0.1])by localhost (perform.iiug.org >[127.0.0.1]) (amavisd-new, port 10024)with ESMTP id 1zM9PLFG0YcQ; Thu, 31 >May 2007 15:21:47 -0400 (EDT) >Received: by perform.iiug.org (Postfix, from userid 60001)id 57610A088; >Thu, 31 May 2007 15:21:46 -0400 (EDT) >Received: from perform.iiug.org (localhost [127.0.0.1])by perform.iiug.org >(Postfix) with ESMTP id 37F5DA06C;Thu, 31 May 2007 15:21:44 -0400 (EDT) >Received: from localhost (localhost [127.0.0.1])by perform.iiug.org >(Postfix) with ESMTP id EA48DA056for <informix-list@iiug.org>; Thu, 31 May >2007 15:21:40 -0400 (EDT) >Received: from perform.iiug.org ([127.0.0.1])by localhost (perform.iiug.org >[127.0.0.1]) (amavisd-new, port 10024)with ESMTP id 6Kk1oKz8yV-h for ><informix-list@iiug.org>;Thu, 31 May 2007 15:21:40 -0400 (EDT) >Received: by perform.iiug.org (Postfix, from userid 60001)id 0F28DA06C; >Thu, 31 May 2007 15:21:40 -0400 (EDT) >Received: from sandbox.uniqsys.com (aegis.uniqsys.com [64.246.99.195])by >perform.iiug.org (Postfix) with SMTP id 14007A056for ><informix-list@iiug.org>; Thu, 31 May 2007 15:21:38 -0400 (EDT) >Received: from dot.uniqsys.com (dot.uniqsys.com >[192.168.20.200])(authenticated bits=0)by sandbox.uniqsys.com >(8.12.11.20060308/8.12.10/SuSE Linux 0.7) withESMTP id l4VJLXhM024007for ><informix-list@iiug.org>; Thu, 31 May 2007 15:21:33 -0400 >X-Message-Info: >LsUYwwHHNt1wyH5IvRZmeBtEcnQoxDM9scCEcjdvuncdWpFPPC5y1PZ4i130KhhY >X-Virus-Scanned: amavisd-new at iiug.org >X-Original-To: informix-list@iiug.org >Delivered-To: informix-list@iiug.org >X-Virus-Scanned: amavisd-new at iiug.org >X-Greylist: from auto-whitelisted by SQLgrey-1.7.5 >References: ><mailman.24.1180426800.13675.informix-list@iiug.org><98_6i.12273$Tn.24@fe48.usenetserver.com><mailman.33.1180464146.13675.informix-list@iiug.org><2W07i.8776$Aj.8252@fe170.usenetserver.com><1180544003.292441.27290@g4g2000hsf.googlegroups.com><Sdi7i.31528$ys.7999@fe42.usenetserver.com><mailman.56.1180554155.13675.informix-list@iiug.org><epm7i.10551$Gj.5866@fe180.usenetserver.com><mailman.64.1180611461.13675.informix-list@iiug.org><UtD7i.27913$gw.15970@fe52.usenetserver.com><mailman.65.1180632977.13675.informix-list@iiug.org><U7E7i.18157$my.10893@fe28.usenetserver.com><mailman.67.1180636829.13675.informix-list@iiug.org><XVE7i.26805$Qk.25602@fe34.usenetserver.com> >Organization: Unique Systems, Inc. >X-Mailer: Evolution 2.6.3 (2.6.3-1.fc5.5) X-USI-MailScanner-Information: >Please contact the ISP for more information >X-USI-MailScanner: Found to be clean >X-MailScanner-From: carsten@uniqsys.com >X-BeenThere: informix-list@iiug.org >X-Mailman-Version: 2.1.6 >Precedence: list >List-Id: "comp.databases.informix" <informix-list.iiug.org> >List-Unsubscribe: ><http://www.iiug.org/mailman/listinfo/informix-list>,<mailto:informix-list-request@iiug.org?subject=unsubscribe> >List-Archive: <http://www.iiug.org/pipermail/informix-list> >List-Post: <mailto:informix-list@iiug.org> >List-Help: <mailto:informix-list-request@iiug.org?subject=help> >List-Subscribe: ><http://www.iiug.org/mailman/listinfo/informix-list>,<mailto:informix-list-request@iiug.org?subject=subscribe> >Errors-To: informix-list-bounces@iiug.org >Return-Path: informix-list-bounces@iiug.org >X-OriginalArrivalTime: 31 May 2007 19:22:04.0461 (UTC) >FILETIME=[F8AAEDD0:01C7A3B8] > >On Thu, 2007-05-31 at 11:59 -0700, Tool wrote: > > Actually you said directly that I certainly didn't need more > > than 5 connections, and didn't need replication working. > >Please feel free to prove me wrong. So, is it logically Mikey the Moron? ;-) The funny thing is I know you _wanted_ to say something relevant but just couldn't muster something intelligent or even relevant. But it sounded good when you had that third or fourth drink didn't it?
