I know this sounds like a flame, but let's get real. Informix has sold more copies of RDBMS software to Unix customers EVERY year since the dawn of man, and in fact sold TWICE as many copies as Oracle/Sybase/Ingres/Progress combined last year. The product is literally GLUED to Unix so tightly, and always has been. First with on line backup, integrated mirroring,blobs,PDQ...which by the way I have in another xterm session where I just completed a measely two table join (245,000 inside (124byte rows)/1,300,000 outside(332 byte rows) in 1 minute 8 seconds. This with ONLY 4 Symmetry Model E's, and table fragmented by round robin over 7 drives! Fast. ________________ Kevin A.
