Re: Star Designor for Online 5.0.3?
There are 2 different tools:
S-Designor 4.2, 5.x (whatever) that costs about $3,000 and works with
PowerBuilder dev tools; and,
StarDesignor 1.0 that costs about $330 and is a data modeling, db
management and reverse engineering tool (probably a sub-set of S-Designor).
Being a small company, and not needing PowerBuilder support, I've purchased
StarDesignor -- just started working with it. It was sweet to do a
dbschema on my existing database, import it into StarDesignor and see a
graphical representation of my database! And my clients will love the
reports it can generate.
Unfortunately the manual appears to be a true "1.0" version, so it's slow
getting started. But I think StarDesignor will become a useful tool in
maintaining, designing and documenting my Informix databases.
