OnLine Log Format

Hi all, We've got a client that has a set of detail rows were missing from their inventory. Of course, it was one of their more popular items and had several rows associated with the part. The rows "where there yesterday and now they're gone". Nowhere in our entire application is there a statment even similiar to "delete from inv_detail", so we're pretty confident that it was the app that did it on a fluke. We tbchecked the tables, and they came back clean. We manually checked the integrity of the data to make sure the item_code didn't get zapped to null or something. It's difficult to see if the item_code was just changed from one valid part to another. And only one item was affected, so we doubt the disk go stomped. So, what they want us to do is find out if we can look through the logs of the day and see if we can find "what happened" to the data. I told them that I'd give it a shot. So, now I have a slew of OnLine Logs that were archived to tape, and I'm wondering if anyone has any ideas one how I can read the data off the tape and read the data. I know that the SE Log file format is known to world at large, so I figured I'd ask the world if they knew anything about the log tapes. I really don't need all of the data off the tapes, just the records, the operations (insert, delete...) and the user id. Thanx for any info! Will (uunet!la4gen!villy) -or- (me@zipbang.socal.com)
