That is the normal activity for server agent in that version. The interval is set in the windows registry and can be set to a time of your choice. (I set it to 300 seconds). Another option is to upgrade to a 7.30 engine where server agent functions more friendly to system resources. Only ISM and GUI tools stop talking to Informix. In these peaks CPU usage is 100%. When testing, I've stopped the INFORMIX-OnLine Server Agent in Control Panel and the peaks of processor stops. GUI tools, like command center and space explorer cannot connect to the server but users can work normally when the service is stopped.
