Please Help: SE and I-NET problem

Running sqlexecd works great until I try to connect using ilogin. At this point the sqlexecd log file contains: 25506 process can't connect on socket. The client hangs. The sqlexecd continues to listen on the designated port. All configurations are correct, and product version are supported. Anyone have any clues? This seems to be a TCP/IP setup thingy.
