Help, Can anybody tell me if it is possible to create or access a standard engine database on a file system that has been mounted from a remote server using NFS ?? I'm sure that I have done this in the past, but when I try it now the screen locks up. It gets as far as the message "Running....." in the bottom left hand corner. When creating a database if I look in the .dbs directory when logged into the server I only see two files syscolumns.dat and syscolumns.idx ( if I check this directory when logged into the client I see nothing !). Incidentally the sqlexec process cannot be terminated with a kill -9 the only way to remove these processs is to reboot the machine.
