Translating with DrWatson… this can take a few seconds the first time.
This is a genuine, complex translation. DrWatson protects commands, error codes, and log output while naturally translating the surrounding text. It’s translated once and saved.
Version: IDS 10
I looked at all string manipulation function that IDS provides but
couldn't find:
1. Something that gives me the location of a character in a string.
2. Or, something that works like sed in terms of replacing characters
using regular expression.
If such functions are not available then I'll write my own.

I've never used it myself, but the regex datablade at
http://www.ibm.com/developerworks/db2/zones/informix/library/techarticle/db_regexp.html might help.
