If you are suggesting building a single executable that will access both dbmss, they it also assumes that ASK and Informix do not have any functions in our libraries that have the same name. I would not bet the farm on this. From personal experience, having a single executable that will access two or more vendors databases does not work. You could, of course, have 2 executables that share data via shared memory, or message queues, or whatever.
