I am sorry if I have offended anyone who thinks I am one of the elegant = English speaker. I am not a linguistics expert, but to me, English, = French, German, Italian, Spainish, Portuguese, Romanians etc. are all = foreign languages, and possibly all derived from Latin. =20 Luckily, you can type most of the characters of all these languages with = an English QWERTY keyboard. On the other hand, as one can type most of = the characters with an English keyboard, there is nothing wrong if he (I = am in trouble again) post his message to this group in his native = language. If you can 'conduct' only one langauge, e.g. sign language, = certainly, that is the only langauage you can use to communicate with = our people, even they don't understand you, and that is the time we need = an interpreter. I was just joking in my original response to the 'Sauvegardes' posting, = as I have heard so many times that many (not all !) French people won't = speak English even though they actually can (forgive me if I have got = the wrong story). I wonder what the reaction would be if somebody send his post to this = group in Chinese and translate to Janpanese. Unfortunetely, we can't = type the Chinese word or Japanese 'hi-ra-ah-na' (letter) with the = English keyboard, so it will be totally confusing for someone who = doesn't know phonetics. Again, as I've stated in my previouse post, this group is managed by the = Emory Uni, so English is more preferalbe, just like you are in a class = with an English teacher and most of the students speak English. Kate from the Home Depot accussed me that I am not supposed to = understand every post. Yes, you are quite right --- I am not intended, = and have no time to read through and understand every post, even they = are in English, or 4GL whatever. Thanks.
