moving databases and SPL

Looking for some information on how to move databases along with stored
procedures from machine to machine. (Identical setup on these two
machines - just going to a production environment from development.) I
typically use dbexport to do this with - but oops- no stored
procedures. Anybody have any experience doing this?

Hmmmmmmm . . . I thought that dbexport would include all SPL.
Anyway, if you have an identical setup between boxes, why not restore
your production data to your test box using ontape. We've been doing
that for a few years now with no problems.

Are you sure your *.sql file created by dbexport does not contain stored
procedures? Are you using the -ss option (not sure if this is the key).
If dbexport won't work for you and your servers are really identical, you
could take a level 0 archive on the first machine and restore it on the 2nd
machine using ontape. If you are running the same Informix version and the
same OS version on each server, you could also use onunload/onload to move
the database only.
Good luck,
Bob
