RE: Informix ODBC

We have not experienced problems in accessing any Informix 7.x database with commonly available ODBC drivers. We have multiple Informix clients using our application integration and/or automated Alerts solutions with the Intersolv 3.10 32 bit driver. Earlier versions of the driver (either from Informix or Intersolv) were reported to have some issues. Is there anywhere - website, book - which address this issue comprehensively -- Regards, Duncan C. Kinder dckinder@mountain.net --
Have you ever tried returning values from Informix stored procedures using the Intersolv driver? Just curious. We're getting "Optional feature not implemented" errors in ODBC trace when trying to return values to VB6 using RDO.

I've had no problem doing this. i used the ODBC call syntax in an rdoquery. you set the string to " { call SPNAME (?,?...,?) } " in the rdoquery, where the ? denote a parameter, which can be set using the rdoquery.parameter property. execute it, and you can get the return values using the rdocolumns property. I haven't got an example handy at the moment, but if you need one, i can provide one. There is something about this in the books online, but it mostly applies to SQL Server, so ignore what it says about return codes and use the method i just outlined Regards Mark

Are you sure this is the "real" error you are getting? Check for the other error numbers/descriptions in the errors collection to see whether there might be some other problem. I got the "Optional feature not implemented" error as errors(0).description when the actual problem was really an incorrect password, which was correctly announced in errors(1).description.
