Some useful scripts
Posted in 1996
About a month ago I posted a response to a question regarding the query
optimizer. The answer involved use of the UPDATE STATISTICS
[HIGH|MEDIUM|LOW] commands and I mentioned a script that I had developed
which performed the reommended sequence of these commands on the specified
table(s). After a few people expressed an interest in this script, I
posted it on our Web site at http://www.objectsoft.com . The
"update_stats" script has undergone a few minor modifications since its
original posting. One of these changes corrects a problem which caused the
script to not work on some versions of UNIX (including AIX) when wildcards
were used in the table name parameter.
We have also added another useful script. This is a utility for monitoring
locks on UNIX based Informix OnLine DSA servers. The output of this script
is generally more useful than that provided by the "onstat" command as it
identifies users and tables by name rather than address and partition
number.
You can access Objective Software Systems' Informix Tips & Information

might want to check out some of our other pages, such as "Career
Opportunities" if your looking for work, or "Company Information" if you're
looking for help.
