DBLOAD field length limit??

I've been trying to use DBLOAD to load a delimited file with some HUGE fields is it. I get "segmentation fault (core dump)". I think this has to do with the large fields since I'm resonably sure there are no illegal strings in the file. What is the limit? If it's system dependant what's a good number?
