I say "cause" in the most general sense, without knowing whether there was any premeditation, malice, stupidity or incompetence involved. Then, the system(s) associated with the news side of the list/news gateway started having stability problems, which continue even now. The problems that I detected were that multiple copies of one article each by Lester K. and Calvin N. got posted to netnews. I haven't seen any problems on the mailing list side, except for a pretty big backlog for outgoing messages. However, the nature of e-mail is such that I would be less likely to see problems like duplicate copies, etc. So, things are getting back to normal here, or as normal as they ever get, but they're not quite there yet.
