BOTH systems are running SCO, there is no PC involved. Both are running I-NET, etal. so that each system may be a client and server. I don't think that it's a hosed hosts file since: a) there are only 2 systems and b) it works most of the time. Only sporadically do we get the error message in the log file *while* they are running. Also, I would still like to know what the command-line argument letters mean to sqlexecd. I can't believe that Informix doesn't document that type of thing better. Thanks for responding, and if anyone else has more info or questions, let me know please. Thanks. ************************************************************* That was Zen - this is Tao *************************************************************
