Mine's just starting. :| There is nothing extra to buy. There's no xternal program to run. This is NOT like using nroff for pretty printer output. I've stated in previous posts that everything we write must be self contained in Informix because of our clientel. PBS television stations. They don't have a lot of money to spend so telling them they have to have extra stuff won't do. So we do all our pretty reports inside of Informix. As for the ability to extract a user name into informix: define uservar char(8) let uservar = fgl_getenv("LOGNAME") # Works on most systems but jjust i case you're on one that it doesn't work on, do this: define uservar char(8) let uservar = fgl_getenv("LOGNAME") if uservar is null or uservar = " " then let uservar = fgl_getenv("USER") end if There, I feel much better. Anyone else wanna get on the soap box? :) -- gburnore@garys.arasmith.com -------------------------------------------------------------------------- How you look depends on where you go. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- | '۳''''''۳''''''''''''' Gary L.
