There are good books on Administration from Carlton Doe, Madison Pruett, Joe Lumbley, Glenn Miller, and Elizabeth Suto (the second addition of Joe Lumbley's book is due out in February BTW) on application development for Informix by Art Taylor, Robert D. Schneider, Cathy Kipp, and others. All these and others, including Joe's new edition, are available from Amazon.com. Art S. Kagel
