Accessing the wrong *.bld file when registering opaque types with an
Posted in 2004
This may not make perfect sense, as I am a novice in this area, but any
help would be appreciated.
I am executing the content of an .sql file which registers some opaque
types with our datablade which is Asn.bld.
The content of this .sql files is dynamic, but its command content is used
to register some opaque types giving them an external name in this fashion:
create opaque type AsnOctetString(
internallength = variable,
maxlen = 4096,
alignment = 4
);
grant usage on type AsnOctetString to public;
--
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
-- support for string based input and output
create function AsnOctetString_output (AsnOctetString) returns lvarcharexternal name '$DATABLADEDIR/Asn.bld(AsnOctetString_output)' language c;
etc etc etc....
substituting the $ variable for an appropriate path.
For some reason on some occasions informix is searching for
'...../exec.bld', but I cannot find any reference to 'exec.bld' in any of
our code or sql files (commands to register opaque types).
Is 'exec.bld' some kind of default or something, and maybe it is looking
for that because we have provided an invalid path, or our Asn.bld does not
exist.
