My benchmark was primarily write-intensive; inserting rows rows. However, since ref. int. was in play, Informix was doing a lot of reading to validate keys. The cache on the RAID box was turned on both times. In fact, the benchmark was run against the same RAID box with both cooked disks and raw disks. In both cases, logical logging was turned off.
