It depends what UNIX you have. On SCO you have to change this parameter in /etc/conf/cf.d/stune and then relink the kernel. Of course on some of UNIX systems there are administration frameworks for this (on SCO - scoadmin, on HP-UX - sam). I hope there is such administration framework on your system.
