A community-maintained IBM Informix Dynamic Server feature request list (hosted at smooth1.co.uk, to be presented to IBM) was being updated with suggestions from newsgroup readers. Even DbaseII and Foxbase had that feature 20 years ago! I agree, add that
one in.
