PB 4.0 has some bugs with respect to the Informix interface; you can get some fixes from Informix and/or Powersoft, but in getting an application developed and deployed fast, it may be wiser to choose another tool. >files, not P-code. I have heard it is better than VB. (But it is in >the same catagory). It does cost $2000 however. Most tools in this class will come with a similar price tag (Visual Basic being the exception). SQLWindows, Powerbuilder, Delphi, Objectview - at $2000, for native database access, Delphi is actually pretty inexpensive. PB costs something like $3500, and SQLWindows, last time I looked, had a similar price tag.
