Hi, I have a problem at a clients machine, where we are getting a lot of
these messages in the online.log
13:52:41 listener-thread: err = -25587: oserr = 0: errstr = : Networkreceive failed.
They are all connecting directly to the server, and using shared memory
connections.
The server settings are: (the server has 2 physical cpu's)
Informix Dynamic Server Version 7.30.UC5
SERVERNUM 1 # Unique id corresponding to a DynamicServer instance
DBSERVERNAME mimed # Name of default database server
DBSERVERALIASES mimed_tcp # List of alternate dbservernames
NETTYPE ipcshm,4,120,CPU # Configure poll thread(s) for nettype
NETTYPE soctcp,1,100,NET # Configure poll thread(s) for nettype
DEADLOCK_TIMEOUT 90 # Max time to wait of lock indistributed env.
RESIDENT 0 # Forced residency flag (Yes = 1, No =
0)
MULTIPROCESSOR 1 # 0 for single-processor, 1 formulti-processor
NUMCPUVPS 4 # Number of user (cpu) vps
SINGLE_CPU_VP 0 # If non-zero, limit number of cpu vpsto one
There are only 130 shm connection on this box, which doesn't come close
to what is available (4 x 120)
Beside for the obvious, what else can I look at here ?
The internal network seems to be ok:

As you know, IDS 7.30.UC5 is not supported now and has got a known bug,
similar to your situation of network disconnections. Try changing
NETTYPE by increasing no. of connections.
