This means hiring an outside independent auditors to review operations and their books. Having failed to do this, they let their greed get the best of them. My initial point was that Illustra's management had that option. Shareholders of Informix do not have the right to call in outside auditors thus they don't have the option of due dilligence and have to rely on the company statements and *expert* opinons, along with *other* publicly available information. Insider trading occurs when you trade on information that only those within the organization know about.
