I can't confirm your question, but there are definitely problems at
times trying to figure out what kind of sizing is being used when
configuring Informix on NT. Most of the NT systems I work with have
a page size of 4096, instead of the 2048 we find on a lot of UNIX
machines.
At times it's a stab in the dark as to how to configure the settings
in the ONCONFIG, wondering if the multiple will go for 2048 or 4096,
or if the value will go as advertised. Examples include any of the
settings involving the use of kilobytes.
It'd be great if Informix people responsible for the ONCONFIG default
file would put a little note mentioning whether the page size will be
multiplied or used literally.
I realize this probably doesn't help you at all, but you might take
this into consideration when trying to size your tape.

No problem. I consider it a foreign language myself.
