4GL and I-SQL both have the LOAD command to do just that. However, the
ASCII file would have to contain homogenous data for it to work. The best
method is to get the masters and details into separate ASCII files first.
If you can do that, it's a doddle.
Otherwise, as a desparate (and somewhat ugly) measure, you could use two
passes of the dbload utility and get it to igonore all errors (ie. the
rows that belonged in the other pass). Ugh.
