Hi Greg, I would agree with everything said to you so far, and comment on the following: >:Does FourGen have any GUI which can act as a front end to users on a >Windows >:network? >:Would X-Windows work with Fourgen & Informix? Are there any other ways to >:operate >:the Fourgen box via Windows? Fourgen is only character based, however Informix has something called Informix-4GL/GX which is supposed to take a character based 4GL application and emulate it as an X-Windows application with all menus emulated as buttons. This is supposed to happen without changing a single line of code so you can use the same program under both environments. I have never used this, perhaps someone who has can tell you more. Also there are Windows based emulators that are capable of running X applications under Windows. Again I have not used them and I have heard they are quite expensive compared to other options you have been told about (Hotkey).
