Re: Memory use grows under 7.1 SE

B****y h**l -- it's a miracle it works at all. I was going to go into what's changed, but there are enough changes that you should just recompile the .ec file. Particularly when switching between 4.1x and any later version (5.0x, 6.0x, 7.x, etc.), do not try to save the second or two that running the ESQL/C precompiler takes. The resulting program won't work reliably, and will chew memory. Also, note that in 6.0x and above (for certain; I'm not sure about 5.0x), you need to $FREE both the statement AND the cursor, unlike 4.1x where trying to $FREE both was not necessary (and, if I recall correctly, actually completely ill-advised as it lead to memory being freed twice, a well-known way to get core dumps sooner or later).
