I didn't run into problems on RedHat 5.2 but I installed I4GL before installing ISQL. Since the brand program is the same regardless of which product you're using, if the file is simply missing from $INFORMIXDIR/etc after copying ISQL of the CD, try installing one of the I4GL products first.
