I have recently tried to build this on a Sun SPARCserver 1000E running SunOS 5.4 and Ver. 5.05 of the OnLine engine. Perl4 built with no problem and the tests ran fine. Isqlperl also built with no problem, but when trying to use it (tests, or to run simple perl scripts) it simply gives a "Bus error" and quits. (I was told Bus errors are "addresses out of range" in an older vernacular.) Since isqlperl was written a few years back, is there anything that would be incompatible with either later OS's or Ver. 5.05 of esql ? I have run the esql demo1 example with no problem (so esql is working, as well as perl itself). Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thank you very much.
