How To Prepare Sp?

Dear Informixers, I've found (I believe) that a loop with many Stored Procedures inside runs slower than the same loop with Prepared SQL statements (in ESQL/COBOL at least). Is it possible to prepare the Stored Procedures? Any help? Thank you very much Agostino Brunamontini Srd. Rome. Italy.
