Re: Amnesty for illegal immigrants will not happen thistime.....................

Despite the subject line, this is not a technical thread. Posted on 1 April 2006, it consists of a joke claim that IBM was about to launch a massive Informix advertising blitz (print, TV and radio) with no equivalent DB2 campaign, followed by replies treating it as an April Fools' prank and trading banter about whether anyone in Informix pre-sales actually works. No technical problem is raised and no resolution or useful information is recorded; safe to skip.

Last night I was chatting to a mate of mine who works in the Informix pre-sales team, apparently there is a MASSIVE advertising campaign coming for Informix, with saturation coverage of the IT trade press as well as pretty thorough coverage of non-IT SMB type magazines. Apparently, there will be some selective TV advertising, restricted mainly to the US, but there will be global radio advertising. What makes this even more special, is that there isn't going to be an equivalent DB2 campaign.
