Database not showing up in the list

I have
upgraded my informix database from 5.x to 9.3 and now when I start the program
"isql" or "i4gl", the database doesn't showup in the list of databases. When I
start "dbaccess" I can see the database just fine.
#### On my 5.x machine in dbaccess the databases are listed as
SELECT DATABASE >>
Select a database with the Arrow Keys, or enter a name, then press Return.

#### On my 9.3 machine in dbaccess the databases are listed like
SELECT DATABASE >>
Select a database with the Arrow Keys, or enter a name, then press Return.
------------------------------------------------ Press CTRL-W for Help --------

#### QUESTION
1. Why is there an @ symbol in the database name?
2. Why doesn't "isql" or "i4gl" see the database?
3. What environment variable must I set in order to see the database correctly?
Joseph,
I think Your environment for ISQL and I4GL is not
set correctly.
You should set-up separate environment (INFORMIXDIR,
PATH, LD_LIBRARY_PATH) for I4GL.
Do not try to install both products (IDS & I4GL)
into a single directory!
Bets regards,
Alexey
